What This Means To You

*Americans need assurance about their long-term savings and security. According to Pew, more than one-third of Americans say the Enron collapse has made them more worried about their retirement savings - especially those in their pre-retirement years. Employers might want to consider extra efforts to communicate corporate retirement-planning options or provide seminars to create a collaborative, rather than an adversarial, relationship with employees.

*A wide range of businesses might want to consider creating marketing messages that emphasize a company's non-hierarchical structure, its caring atmosphere and the ties binding executives to employees. The implications for consumers would be that a respectful relationship between an employer and its employees would extend to the relationship between that company and its consumers.
