Klingmann launches Brandscapes book

Real Estate Weekly,  Oct 17, 2007

Anna Klingmann, brand architecture specialist and host of the popular BRANDISM series with the AIA in New York, was joined on October 4th at The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, by friends, prominent architects, related professionals, students, club members and press in the 19th century mansion's gracious parlor to celebrate the release of her new book, "Brandscapes--Architecture in the Experience Economy," which was recently published by M.I.T. Press.

Among the messages conveyed in the text is how brand and experience management have transformed contemporary architecture. "Branded architecture on a massive scale changes a city in profound ways," says Dr. Klingmann. "There are a lot of parties involved in each project, and while their priorities diverse, their impact is collective. New York is growing rapidly, and it is essential that these parties communicate from project to project if the city is to grow in a healthy and sustainable manner."

The former professor of architecture at Cornell University is considered a preeminent expert on Brandism in architecture and is a brand consultant for several real estate developers in New York and Europe. Dr. Klingmann has also begun a global lecture tour that includes such critically relevant locations as Dubai.
