NYU Sales Course

Oct. 2 to Nov. 27: New York University Real Estate Institute is offering the 45hour New York Real Estate Salesperson's course. This class is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays/Thursdays, October 2nd through November 27th, meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. It will be presented at the Midtown Center, 11 West 42nd Street, 5th floor. Film Festival

Oct. 17 to 21: Prudential Douglas Elliman is sponsoring the 15th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. The first night of the Festival will feature the world premiere of HBO films' Bernard and Doris, starring Susan Sarandon and Ralph Fiennes. Renowned beachfront resort, Gurney's Inn, will host an opening night party immediately following the screening. Over the five-day program, 103 films will be unveiled, including 17 world premieres, 11 U.S. premieres, 17 east coast premieres and 14 New York premieres. Although the festival will host both international and domestic directors, this year's focus will be on American independent film.

SMPS-NY Breakfast

Oct. 17: The New York Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS-NY) will host a breakfast on "how to grow in an urban environment" from 8 to 10 a.m. The program will take place at the Penn Club of New York at 30 West 44th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues). Kick-off Luncheon

Oct. 18: Women in Housing and Finance will host their 2007-08 Kick-Off Luncheon with guest Deborah VanAmerongen, commissider of the NYS Division of Housing & Community Renewal. Oct. 18: The Children's Home Society of New Jersey will host "A Grand Wine and Scotch Tasting" fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will take place at The Manor 111 Prospect Ave., West Orange, N.J., and feature more than 250 different wines and a scotch tasting. Presented by Wine Legend of Livingston, N.J., the evening will include hors d'oeuvres and a dinner buffet. Fair Housing Seminar

Oct. 19 & 20: The Long Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute presents Fair Housing and Fair Lending and Environmental Issues at the Marriot Residence Inn, 9 Gerhard Rd., Plainview, N.Y. from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Books will be distributed on the first day of class, cost included in tuition and a one-hour examination is given at the conclusion of days one and two. Tuition is $220. Appraisal Institute and New York State Continuing Education Credit: full attendance, and successful completion of the examination will qualify Appraisal Institute Members for 15.0 credit hours AI CE credit.
