Top New York financier to be honored by ORT America

The Real Estate & Construction Industry Chapter of ORT America will honor one of New York's most prominent real estate financiers, Andrew J. Singer, on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at its annual Tribute Luncheon, to be held at The Rainbow Room, Rockefeller Center, NYC.
Andrew J. Singer, chairman & CEO of The Singer and Bassuk Organization, will be presented with the ORT Community Achievement Award.
The luncheon attracts professionals from the real estate, construction and allied trade industries, including developers, owners, brokers and attorneys.
The ORT Outstanding Community Achievement Award honors individuals who have substantially improved the quality of life for their fellow individuals, created role models which can be emulated and/or established new directions for society. "We are delighted to recognize Andrew J. Singer for his extraordinary professional accomplishments and philanthropic activities on behalf of others," said Jeffrey Levine, Real Estate & Construction Industry Tribute Luncheon Chair.

"The afternoon also provides an opportunity for the real estate industry to come together to celebrate ORT's work and achievements around the world.

Singer is a member of the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, past Chairman and current Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York and the past Chairman of the Real Estate and Allied Trades Division of U JA Federation of New York.
Since 1996, Singer has been directly responsible for arranging mortgage financing in excess of $7 billion.
His recent activities have included arranging financing for major office and residential properties, including Carnegie Hall Tower, 1501 Broadway, The Archive, The Fairfax, The Empire, 88 Greenwich Street, 50 Murray Street and The Turtle Bay Towers.
Singer, together with Kathleen McSharry of SBO, has been awarded three times the Real Estate Board of New York's coveted Most Ingenious Finance Deal of the Year. In 2005, the team won the Robert T. Lawrence Award for its financing of 20 Exchange Place in Lower Manhattan.
A guest lecturer on numerous occasions at Columbia University, New York University, The University of Wisconsin and a variety of corporate meetings, Singer has also been engaged as an expert witness to testify in various real estate litigation matters.
