Caption: The setting was a classroom at the Upper Broadway Manhattan campus of the New York Institute of Technology. The attendees, all third year students in the School of Architecture and Design, were about to learn the real skinny on commercial construction scope, time and industry pressures and trends, as well as the business of operating a construction company. The lecturer providing the real-life information, Barry R. Fries (fourth from left in photo) is founder and CEO of B.R. Fries & Associates, LLC. The firm is a leading, New York-based, 28-year-old firm offering a full range of renovation, restoration and new construction building services with extensive experience in renovating and retrofitting commercial and retail properties. Fries was invited by Frank Mruk, AIA, RIBA (fifth from left), NY Institute of Technology Associate Dean to address the class.
