Jacobs Exhibit
Sept. 25 to Jan. 5: The Municipal Art Society of New York has launched a multi-faceted project to highlight the relevance of activist and author Jane Jacobs and the urban design principles presented in her classic text, The Death and Life of Great American Cities. "Jane Jacobs and the Future of New York," applies Jacobs' principles to contemporary New York while seeking to initiate a dialogue concerning the future of the city. It features an exhibit, on display at the Municipal Art Society, along with a series of public programs, panel discussions and events. For more information visit www.mas.org.
NYU Broker's Course
Dec. 4 to 13: The Real Estate Institute of New York University, which is located at 11 West 42nd St., is offering the 45-hour New York Real Estate Broker's come. This class is scheduled to meet for six days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, meeting from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The enrollment lee is $495. Strategic Projects Conference
Dec. 5: Larry Silverstein, developer of the Freedom Towers, will deliver the keynote address at a conference at Hofstra University's Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies from 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. in the Student Center Theater, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus. Practices and Ethics Course
Dec. 7: The Long Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute presents: Business Practices and Ethics. This course focuses on the Appraisal Institute's Code of Professional Ethics and enforcement procedures at the Citibank Conference Center, 1 Rexcorp Plaza/East Tower, Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale, N.Y. This course is required to fulfill Appraisal Institute designation and membership continuing education requirements. It qualifies as New York State Continuing Education for Appraisers. A one-hour examination is given at the conclusion of this course. Tuition for members/ associates/affiliates is $195, non-member is $215. The seminar is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exam at the end of the day, bring No. 2 pencils and ID. The instructor is Richard Marchitelli, MAI, SRA. Appraisal Institute and New York State Continuing Education Credit: Full attendance at this course and successful completion of the examination will qualify for 7 hours (8 hours with passing of the exam) of Appraisal Institute CE credit, and 7.0 hours NYS Real Estate Appraiser Continuing Education Credit.
