Stamford unveils its first luxury high rise

Real Estate Weekly,  Oct 31, 2007

Ceebraid-Signal Corporation, in cooperation with Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy, held a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 10 for Stamford's Highgrove, a luxury high-rise condominium designed by the world-renowned architectural firm, Robert A. M. Stem Architects. The development, comprised of 95 elegantly appointed residences and 230 indoor valet parking spaces, is the first luxury residential condominium to be developed in Stamford's downtown.

Site work for Highgrove is well underway, with vertical construction on the development having started Sept. 19, when Hunter Roberts Construction Group started to pour the concrete to establish the building's foundation. Highgrove has an expected completion date of summer 2009.

Highgrove's status as downtown Stamford's first luxury high-rise condominium and the positive impact the development will have in providing the city with both luxury housing and additional affordable housing through Stamford's affordable housing requirements for new developments, was applauded by Mayor Malloy at the Oct. 10 ceremony. Jason Schlesinger, principal of Ceebraid-Signal Corp., said Highgrove will serve as a fitting addition to Stamford's emerging role as one of the premier cultural destination cities in the New York metropolitan area.

The condominium is a joint venture project between Ceebraid-Signal Corp. and the New York-based real estate investment arm of Investcorp International. Highgrove is a combination of two, three and four-bedroom condominium homes, .starting at $1.4 million, that provide an impressive average of 2,558 square feet of living space. Unique luxury amenities include private elevator access to each home, wine cellar, 24-hour doorman, concierge, indoor swimming pool with retractable roof, spa and fitness center, private screening room and valet parking.

The residences at Highgrove will feature such exquisite finishes and appointments as ceilings heights that soar 10 feet and higher; hardwood floors; outdoor terraces; fireplaces in select homes; year-round room-by-room personal climate control; state-of-the-art designer appliances and pre-wiring for cable and high-speed Internet. Kitchens are outfitted with granite or marble countertops and Sub-Zero and Wolfe appliances. Bathrooms feature marble countertops and flooring and custom-designed vanities and cabinetry.
