The notorious Gretchen Mol
Interview, June, 2006 by Phil Skoglund, E. Miller
Dear Interview,
I wasn't really paying attention to who was on Hollywood's hot list a decade ago, so when the April issue of Interview with the beautiful Gretchen Mol on the cover arrived in my mailbox, I didn't view it from the perspective of "that actress whose career took a dive because she was oversold in the media" but rather for what she is today--a beautiful and promising young actress who seems to have taken on a risky role. Since then, of course, I've learned both in your magazine and in other pieces of the unfortunate turn of events her career experienced just as it appeared to be taking off, and what I'm left with are two thoughts: One, how shaky fame can be for even the most established performers, and two, how deserving of a break this particular actress is. In her interview with Graham Fuller, Ms. Mol comes across as grounded, thoughtful, and immensely likeable--no wonder everyone is so delighted that she seems to have at last made her comeback. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing the notorious Gretchen Mol in The Notorious Bettie Page.

Dear Interview,
If Gretchen Mol is half as convincing in her forthcoming Bettie Page biopic as she is portraying Page in the images in your April issue, then the film is one for the books. I thought Mol was excellent in a number of projects that came and went with little fanfare in the last few years, so it's nice to finally see her getting her props.
