Going global: a new season brings a new reason to be yourself

Interview,  April, 2006  by Joseph Errico

Ah, spring is in the air. The birds are singing again and the buds are beginning to bloom but, most important for fashion types, the new wardrobe is finally broken into, heralding the return of skin.

Flirty dresses and fitted shorts that may have been waiting months in your closet for their debut are at last allowed to see the light of day. Thankfully, the days of what may play in Paris vs. Peoria, or in New York vs. Nazareth, are long gone.

There are no longer tyrannies about what to wear or when to wear it. But it still takes a clever designer to create clothes that can cross the globe, going from catwalk to sidewalk no matter where you are.

So whether you're pumping up Park Avenue, catwalking down Corso Como, running along the Rue Saint-HonorS, or strolling the Shanghai Bund, in this new age of adventure the point is to dress so you feel at home wherever you are.
