This Scandinavian retro-pop quintet is blessed with healthy levels of musical serotonin: Although they recklessly tread the line between depression and elation with every song, they never succumb to the black. Just as the mood threatens to turn dark, somewhere a horn or keyboard rises triumphant, restoring buoyancy. "Very Loud" stares back at a doomed relationship with blind, giddy optimism, as does the determined, raucous "The Comeback." This is a band that finds thrills in falling down just to rise again together--and when they do it's tough not to shout out loud, right along with them. SW
