Picture this: Bryan Adams puts down the guitar, picks up the camera, and shoots for a damn good cause
Interview, July, 2005 by Annabel Tollman
Featuring a cross section of influential women dressed in Calvin Klein, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams's third photography book, American Women, is a collaboration with the celebrated fashion house. Its proceeds will go to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, benefitting its ongoing breast cancer research programs. From Hillary Rodham Clinton to Lindsay Lohan to Serena Williams, the thread connecting all these diverse American women is that they are known for excelling in their respective fields. Which is Adams's favorite picture? "There's something about the Lindsay Lohan shot--that forward-looking expression she has, like she's looking into the future. Obviously her future's really bright, but I also like the idea that there's something in the future that could sort this disease out as well."
Annabel Tollman is Interview's fashion director.
