"Quantum Capture: Photosynthesis tries many paths at once" (SN: 4/14/07, p. 229) incorrectly stated that plants "use up to 90 percent of the light that strikes them." Photosynthetic organisms can use more than 90 percent of the energy they absorb, but the absorbed photons are a small percentage of those that strike an organism.
