Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedNurse named to magazine's medical advisory board - Brief Article
AORN Journal, Nov, 2002
Family Circle recently became the first major consumer magazine to name an RN to its health and medical advisory board, according to a Sept 12, 2002, news release from the American Nurses Association. Anne P. Manton, RN, PhD, FAAN, is an associate professor in the school of nursing at Fairfield University, Conn, and a member of the Connecticut Nurses Association. Manton has more than 25 years of experience as an emergency room nurse in addition to experience in the OR and postanesthesia care unit.
Family Circle decided to add an RN to its advisory board in response to letters from nurse readers, according to the release. Previously, the advisory board was composed of nine physicians and one pharmacist. The advisory board evaluates story ideas, reviews materials for accuracy, and provides quotes for articles. The magazine has a circulation of more than five million readers.
