AORN Journal, March, 2005
Pills purported to augment women's breasts are not only unproven but may be dangerous, according to a Nov 17, 2004, news release from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. More than 30 herbal products that allegedly increase the size of women's breasts have been advertised on television, in magazines, and on the Internet, but there have been no scientifically sound clinical trials proving that they work.
Breast-enhancement pills are sold as herbal supplements and, therefore, they are not subject to US Food and Drug Administration scrutiny for safety and effectiveness. In addition, a recent study found that many breast-enhancement pills contain ingredients that can interfere with or be dangerous in combination with prescribed medications.
