Industry News--The International Housewares Association held a product preview on Jan. 27 in New York, featuring new items that will be featured at its annual convention. Making tasks easier was an early new product focus. In addition to the The Electrolux Trilobite robotic vacuum, retail price $2,000, Chaney Instruments offered self-correcting clocks and Casabella previewed a carpet sweeper that works on both forward and back strokes, among other products.
The IHA exhibition will run from March 20 to 22 at Chicago's McCormick Convention Center. In other news, the association announced that Jeffrey Siegel, chairman, president and ceo of Lifetime Hoan Corp., will join its board of directors. Siegel replaces director Mark Eichhorn when his term on the board ends on Sept. 30.
