NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 2002
Hackney & Plowman has commenced a class action lawsuit in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, against Qwest Communications Corporation and Qwest Communications International, Inc.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Tri Max Technologies, Inc., a Florida based Internet Service Provider, which had entered into a Wholesale Dial Up Internet Access Service Agreement with the Defendant, Qwest Communications Corporation.
The complaint alleges that Qwest Communications Corporation and Qwest Communications International, Inc. violated the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act by overbilling Tri Max in excess of 8,500% above the amount owed, in an effort to inflate revenue and earnings.
The Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all persons and entities in Florida who executed Wholesale Dial Up Internet Access Service Agreements with the Defendant, Qwest Communications Corporation, from January 1, 2001, to August 15, 2002 (the "Class Period").
