British automaker Land Rover, U.S.-based in Lanham, Md., is following its first, successful infomercial with a 30-minute update, shot in wide-screen letterbox format in Arizona and New Mexico. It's called "The Land Rover Experience," hosted by Andy Mill, former member of the U.S. Ski Team.
Land Rover sales were up 37% in 1999 and the company in part credits the infomercial ... OBIT: Phil Stogel, 74, chairman of The Stogel Companies, a New York-based advertising and event/media marketing firm, died Feb. 6 of cancer. A resident of Eastchester, N.Y., he founded his agency in 1956 and, over the years, represented clients such as Konica, Pioneer Electronics, Koss, JVC and DeLonghi. His company currently produces the American Classic Radio Show, a two-hour, monthly music/variety program syndicated nationwide to 120 stations.
