The Children Are Our Tech-Dependent Future? - Brief Article

Brandweek,  Jan 1, 2001  by Becky Ebenkamp

In a roundtable discussion conducted by The L. Report, trendsetters said their generation may be the last to truly comprehend the before and after of the technology revolution.

While they view their parents' segment as increasingly behind in understanding and mastering technology applications, trendsetters see themselves as the bridge generation; a generation that comprehends and utilizes technology, yet can still maintain a healthy distance and perspective.

"Young kids are the lucky ones," trendsetter John said. "They're getting technology crammed down their throats in kindergarten." Others expressed fears that children are being robbed of traditional childhood experiences." Are they getting other things crammed down their throats as well--like human contact?" wondered Jackamo. "I don't think so."
