Andy Have You Heard About This One?

Brandweek,  April 24, 2000

Blame it on the raging hormones. In a poll conducted by teen weekly React, New York, more than a third of teens (37%) believe varsity wrestling teams should be coed. Not all the sports they cited required pubescent boys and girls to writhe around together in unitards on mats. Baseball (38%), basketball (15%) and soccer (10%) all got their fair share of votes.

Overall, 60% liked the general idea of coed sports. "Your gender has nothing to do with how you play," said one teen. "Varsity teams should be made up of the best players, male or female."
