HOUSTON--Compaq Computer is phasing out the Aero name for its handheld computers, in favor of iPaq, the moniker it has used for its corporate-centered "Internet appliances," Compaq will introduce iPaq in June. Like the rest of the line, the new handheld will be tilted towards small-to-large business users, according to Ben Williams, director of Internet products and services.

Compaq is one of four manufacturers, along with Hewlett-Packard, Casio and Symbol Systems, to base products on Microsoft's new Pocket PC OS.
